The 2009 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup Qualifier was held in Canada (Toronto) between 1 to 13 September 2009. International Cricket Council organised this tournament.10 teams from around the world participated in this tournament in order to qualify for 2010 Under-19 Cricket World Cup which is to be held in New Zealand. Ireland emerged as the champion of the tournament by defeating Vanatu in their last match by 291 runs. Other teams which qualified for the tournament are USA, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Papua New Guinea and Canada.

Ten teams participated in the tournament to enter the 2010 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Entry into the Under-19 World Cup Qualifier was based on regional tournaments with the top two teams from each of the five ICC regions qualifying.

All the matches of the tournament were played in Toronto. Sierra Leone could not participate in this tournament due to visa problems; [1] their matches were scratched and their opponents were awarded two points. [2]
